    WoW piggybacks watermark into screenshots

    http://www.ownedcore.com/forums/world-of-warcraft/world-of-warcraft-general/375573-looking-inside-your-screenshots.html

For obvious popular reasons it only applies to jpeg image files.

Well, since I'm not playing I dunno, but It seems to have been so since 2007. The watermark contains account name, time stamp and the IP of the server. It's not really a breach of personal information secrecy, but allows other people (players, hackers, phishers or scammers) to target you. For example they get to know when you are on or not. It's also useful to sniff out "rebel" servers.

Well, perhaps making your own screenshot with the print-screen button won't have the watermark, but I dunno.
