    Seikai Song Adaptations

Valar Morghulis- All Men Must Die
    Performed by John Young

It has many names, and many faces,
    Some lives flee it,
    Some lives chase it,
Every life must face it in the end.

But no life can escape forever
    Sickness, aging, space that severs
No world, no ship, no fleet that can defend.

So you can pray to all the stars, but tell me what will happen when,
There is no fire left to start your heart back up again?!

So you can fight for love or fight for vengeance,
    Fight for honor, or redemption,
Fight for what you will while you're alive!

Fight to live, or fight for power,
    Never fight a single hour,
Fight for what you will, but you can't hide.
    'Cause all lives must die!

Pray to your dear gods, pray to the stars, you’re only wasting breath.
'Cause soon the endless winter comes,
And bastards and kings are the same in death!

You can fight a thousand lives or you could fool one thousand one
You can freeze your heart in ice, but death is certain as the sun!

So you can fight for love or fight for vengeance,
    Fight for honor, or redemption,
Fight for what you will while you're alive!

Fight to live, or fight for power,
    Never fight a single hour,
Fight for what you will, but you can't hide.
    'Cause all lives must die!

*Next song with slightly edited lyrics will be from Game of Thrones as well.

    Sabaton- Hearts of Iron

    Spoilers ahead for Book V

    Adapted Lyrics:

    Lakfakalle in flame
Try to save Abriel in vain,
The stars bear our deaths and pain,
Through the other sord, there's the end of our war.

    Who could have ever believed?
    Seems that nothing's been achieved.
Just to walk a day, go all the way,
    The fronts are closing in!

As the end is drawing near,
    The 7th Fleet, interfere!
Open up a route! Get people out!
Our force is spread out thin!

It's the end of our war! (Hold the corridor!)
    Reach for Sotoryuru's Sord!

It's the end, Abriel has been lost!
Keeping us safe 'til the sord has been crossed!
Not a fight, but salvation from doom; (Nicht ein schlacht, ein rettungsaktion)
Holding the sord 'til the final fleet's through!

Hurry up! We're waiting for you!
Troops of the 6th, and the civilians too!
Dispossessed, fleets retreating to the west!

Who'll survive and who will die?
    Up to Kriegsglück to decide.
Those who made the cross without a loss have reason to reflect.

    It is not about Lakfakalle
And it's not about the Abh
It's about the troops, who fought for them
    What peace can they expect?!

See the system burn from the other side!
Going down in flames as two worlds collide!
Who can now look back with a sense of pride!?
Through the other sord is the end of our war!
    [x2]

It's the end, Abriel has been lost!
Keeping us safe 'til the sord has been crossed!
Not a fight, but salvation from doom; (Nicht ein schlacht, ein rettungsaktion)
Holding the sord 'til the final fleet's through!

Hurry up! We're waiting for you!
Troops of the 6th, and the civilians too!

Going down in flames as two worlds collide!
Who can now look back with a sense of pride!?
Through the other sord is the end of our war!
    [x2]

    Lakfakalle in flame
Try to save Abriel in vain,
The stars bear our deaths and pain,
Through the other sord, there's the end of our war.

Who are you referring to here? Forgive me for asking.

In any case, here's the next song I wished to adapt that was from Game of Thrones:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wMV0DRTZfw
    The Rains of Castamere
    performed by Johnathan Young

Edited Lyrics and title- The Silence of Kiwol Febdash

"Who are you?", the proud lord said, "that I must bow so low?"
"Only a girl, and her pet in tow, that's all the truth I know."
"A coat of blue, a coat of red, a dragon still has claws."
"Mine are long, and sharp my liege; as long and sharp as yours!"

And so he spoke, and so he spoke,
    Lord of Febdash barony,
And now the stars weep o'er his hall, with no one there to hear.
Yes now the stars weep o'er his hall,  with not a soul to hear!

    [Bridge]

"A coat of blue, a coat of red, a dragon still has claws."
"Mine are long, and sharp my liege; as long and sharp as yours!"

And so he spoke, and so he spoke,
    Lord of Febdash barony,
And now the stars weep o'er his hall, with no one there to hear.

"A coat of blue, a coat of red, a dragon still has its claws."
"Mine are long, and sharp my liege; as long and sharp as yours!"

And so he spoke, and so he spoke,
    Lord of Febdash barony,
And now the stars weep o'er his hall, with no one there to hear.
Yes now the stars weep o'er his hall,  with not a soul to hear.

If you're referring to Sabaton, the song itself "Hearts of Iron" have only slightly different lyrics, but it focuses on the peril of the 9th Army and 12th Army during the Battle of Halbe as Germany fell. The battle itself was a breakout attempt to flee as rapidly as possible to the United States held western section of Germany past the Elbe river. I'd recommend listening to the original or researching the battle itself.

In any case, I may have more lyrics today, depending on what I listen to. I wonder what you think of the Fedbash adaptation as well.

    Sabaton- Night Witches
Dedicated to the Night Bomber Regiment 588 of the Soviet Union the "Night Witches"

Lyrics adapted for Latouche 1058th Assault Squadron.

    From the stars, they stalk in silence;
    Cast their spells, explosive violence,
    Assault plane-space flight perfected;
    Flawless vision, assault relentless.

Pushing on and on, their flight is going strong,
    Laburec's number one!
Sailing grand and bold, they're looking for their foe!
    Squadron on a run!

    You can't hide, you can't move;
Just abide, their attack's been proved!

    Silently they fly,
    The witches join the fight!
    Never miss their mark!

    Metal wings of death!
    Prepare to meet your fate!
    Latouch Assault Squadron!
    One-Thousand Fifty-Eight!

    Undetected!
    Unexpected!
    Wings of glory!
    Tell their story!
    Aviation!
    Deviation!
    Undetected!
    Assault perfected!

    Foes are losing ground!
    Retreating to the sound,
    Deathly squadron's glare!
    Suddenly appears,
    Confirming all your fears!
    Strike from witches' lair!

    Target found!
    Come around!
    Barrels sound,
    From the battleground!
    Mankind aiming high.

    The baroness awaits,
She'll defeat them at the gates!
We'll live to fight and fly!

    Metal wings of death!
    Prepare to meet your fate!
    Latouch Assault Squadron!
    One-Thousand Fifty-Eight!

Beneath the starlight of the heavens!
Unlikely heroes in the skies! (Witches to attack! Witches coming back!)
As they appear on the horizon!
The stars will whisper when the Latouch Squadron comes!

    Undetected!
    Unexpected!
    Wings of glory!
    Tell their story!
    Aviation!
    Deviation!
    Undetected!
    Assault perfected!

    From the stars, they stalk in silence;
    Cast their spells, explosive violence,
    Assault plane-space flight perfected;
    Flawless vision, assault relentless.

    Sabaton - Resist and Bite
Dedicated originally to the brave company of 40 soldiers making a stand during the Battle of Beglium; delaying the offensive in the Ardennes for 18 days.

Adapted for the Battle of Lobnas II - First Fleet Hunter

    Battle of Lobnas II:

    Mankind's coming swiftly,
    The enemy's closing in!
    We're a company of starships
    33 vessels strong!

    All alone!
    Stand alone!

    With a passion still burning,
Enemy fleet Salai is at hand!
As our duchess holds her honor,
    The war is all around!

    All around!
    Hold your ground!

We've fought all enemies and battles!
    No odds were our side!
Here few will stand for all, until our ships are all gone!

We! We will resist and bite!
Bite hard! 'Cause we are all in sight!
We! We take up arms and fight!
Fight hard! Resist and do what's right!

    No matter our fighting,
    The numbers will still count!
We're outgunned and few in numbers,
We're doomed to flag of fail!

    We fought hard!
    Held our guard!

When our histories bears our losses,
And we're forced to tell the truth,
We will tell them with a smile!
We will surprise them with a laugh!

    We are all!
    We were all!

We were told to hold like soldiers,
And that is what we did!
Honored were our orders in despite of our foe!

We! We will resist and bite!
Bite hard! 'Cause we are all in sight!
We! We take up arms and fight!
Fight hard! Resist and do what's right!

    [x2]
Meiyo o mamoru eikō! (名誉を守る栄光!, glory in preserving honor)
    The mankind closing in!
Teikō shite sasu! (Teikō shite sasu!, resist and stab)
    Dragons against the eagle!

We! We will resist and bite!
Bite hard! 'Cause we are all in sight!
We! We take up arms and fight!
Fight hard! Resist and do what's right!

    More dedications to Spoor now.

From the play Hamilton, "History Has Its Eyes on You"

Adapted to an engagement in Book V of the Seikai Series

    Spoor's Apocryphal Address:

Spoor's Apocryphal Address to the 7th Fleet prior to their engagement
Addressed to "Commanders, Captains, and my precious Ships"

    Lyrics:

I was younger than some of you now, when I was given my Admiralty
I lead my ships straight into a massacre. I witnessed their deaths first-hand.
I've made every mistake, I've felt the shame rise in me.
Even now I lie awake, knowing history has its eyes on me.
(The stars have their eyes on me.)

Let me tell you what I wish I'd known,
When I was younger and dreamed of glory!
You'll have no control, of who lives, who dies, who tells your stories!

I know that we will win!
I know that greatness lies in us!
Remember from here on in, history has its eyes on you!
The stars have their eyes on you!

From the play Hamilton- Your Obedient Servant

Lyrics to the adapted Dinner with Abriel Lafiel and Kiwol Febdash

    How does Lafiel, an arrogant, royal, imperial mascot;
Somehow refuse my invitation, a baron!
A man with a domain and title, just to keep me from glory?

I want to be in the room where it happens!
The room where it happens, the room where it happens!
Abriels kept me from the room where it happens,
    For the last time.

    "Dear Lafiel,
    I am slow to anger, and I'll toe the line;
As I reckon with effects of your family's life on mine.
I look back where I've failed; and in every place I checked,
The only common thread has been Abriel's disrespect.

They call me ammoral, that's a dangerous disgrace!
If that's too what you say, stay for 12 hours in this place, will you my grace?

I have the honor to be, your obedient servant; K. Febdash"

    "Mr. Baron Febdash

We are not the reason no one entrusts you.
No one stands for your beliefs,
I never equivocate on my opinions,
My duty is always on my sleeve,

Even if I said what you think I've said,
You'll need to cite a more specific grievance
Here's the Imperial chain of command for your disagreements (-Febdash, mere appeasement)

Hey, I have not been shy,
    I am just in line,
    In the public eye
Trying to do my best for our Laburec
I do not want to fight, but I won't apologize for doing what's right!

I have the honor to receive, my obedient servant; L. Abriel"

    "Careful how you proceed my good ma'am;
    Intemperate indeed good ma'am!
Answer for the accusations I lay at your feet,
Or prepare to bleed good ma'am"

    "Baron, your greivance's not legitmate;
I stand by what I say, every decree of it!
Your domain's too young, I won't yield to you!
    I can't apologize because it's true!"

    "Then stand, Lafiel,
    No stars, dawn
    My lines, drawn"

    "You're on."

    Simulataneously:
"I have the honor to be your obedient servant,"
"I have the honor to recieve, my obedient servant,"

    "L. Abriel"
    "K. Fedbdash"

Here's a bit of a change of pace. Time to bust out instrumentals and write original lyrics.

    Song of Operation Phantom Flame:

    (Backing Introduction)
    Dear Noble Empire,
    (x2 Softly)
    We'll bring you eternal prosperity
    We stand for righteous nobility
    We'll stand our honorability
We'll fight against our enemies’ villainy

    (0:20, Main Vocals, Slow)
    Our true fight. . .
    Led by light . . .
    In their gates . . .
    Their fleet waits . . .

    (0:53, Main Vocals, Slow, Building)
    Will, our might . . .
    Shall, it strike . . .
    Down, on them . . .
    Gosroth's men . . .
    Will be then . . .
    Now avenged! . . .
    Strike with rage, today! . . .

(1:53, Main Vocals, Louder, Speeding Up)
    Dear Abh kin,
    Though light dims,
    In all tales
    We'll prevail!
    Forward fleet!
    We shall meet,
    And fight!

(2:41, First Refrain; Company Vocals, Fast)
    Spoor seizes Aptic Gate!
Enemy fails to resist their fate!
Their fortress is the first fall!
    Phantom Flame still carries on!

    (2:51, Same Pace)
    The 4th Fleet seize Neopol!
    2nd Fleet seize gate Mystel!
    1st Fleet race to Demetal!
    Dusanyu's force still surges on!

    (2:58, Same Pace)
    Enemy scouts strike Aptic!
The pace of all is hectic!
    We must discover their tactics!
Our plans must change to carry on!

    (3:06, Same Pace)
Send Bebaus to hold this place,
Do not relinquish an inch of space!
Apitc's where we'll meet our fate!
And against the enemy at the gates!
    Face to face!

(3:15, Second Refrain; Moderate Pace, Loud)
    Now! Take your stand!
    Stations manned!
Abh force close the approach! Hold them off! They encroach!

    (3:31, Same)
    No! We won't rellent!
    We're not spent!

While we fight, Fleets turn around now!
    Inbound!

    (3;47, Same)
    Here! Bebaus holds!
    We won't fold!
    Allies come, we've been told!
    So we fight, standing bold!

    (4:02, Same)
    To the end!
    We defend!
    Honor bound,
Sound out our cries as ships still stand proud!

The hours, have turned on them now!

    (4:23, Quick, Quieter)
    There! See how they run!
    Dusanyu's force has come!
    Spoor shed's their blood!
    The campaign's won!

    (4:30, Same)
    Despite all the cost.
    Despite all our loss.
    The enemy flees!
    Victory!

    (4:38, Moderate pace, Soft)
    Now, we still stand.
    Our dear band.
Brothers and sisters, hold them all, they're so dear!

We did not, give our ground
Glory's found; honor all those who gave their lives here!

    (5:09, Same pace, Moderate volume)
    Dear Abh kin,
    Though light dims,
    We did win!

    Now fly through night,
    Show our might!
    We still strike!

    (5:25, Same)
    Gosroth's men
    You have now been avenged!
Now rest among the stars we defend!
Brothers, Sisters, we will make this war end!

(5:53 Return to First Refrain, Soft)

    [x2]
    We'll bring you prosperity
    We stand for nobility
    We stand for honorability
    We fight against villainy

    (6:09, First Refrain, Loud)
    Spoor seizes Aptic Gate!
Enemy fails to resist their fate!
Their fortress is the first fall!
    Phantom Flame still carries on!

    Enemy scouts strike Aptic!
The pace of all is hectic!
    We must discover their tactics!
Our plans must change to carry on!

Send Bebaus to hold this place,
Do not relinquish an inch of space!
Apitc's where we'll meet our fate!
And against the enemy at the gates!
    Face to face!

I have to smile reading the lyrics for the dinner of Abriel Lafiel and Kiwol Febdash.

    spoor356 wrote:

I wonder is it etiquette wise correct for her to call him a servant or more like vassal...

I think the Operation Phantom Flame adaptation fits well and sounds good. The accounts are well integrated and the flow is just right.

I considered how she'd address him in the contexts of episodes 6 to 8, and I cannot recall which episode it is, but at one point she says "You've given me another reason to dislike you." Something incredibly overt in a noble standard. Also I wanted to adapt the lyrics from Hamilton and I never would imagine Abriel would address Febdash with "I have the honor to be *your* obedient servant".

Glad you liked the latest three. Ekuryua's adaption is next, and I think you may like it. If you have songs I should try to adapt let me know. Finally starting to run out.

This one took a bit more time. Harder to sync the notes and syllabus from Russian into English.

Russia - "God is with us"
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wR7Je3QgI7w
(Best version I could easily find, the rest are ghastly)

    March of the Laburec
    Written by Amanecer Borgh Kasai

How many villanies and dark enemies, have there now been,
    That we Abh have seen?
Invaders, how many times, do they choose to attack,
    So thunderous, murderous?

    A bloody dawn comes today,
So our dragon's rage, it will roar!
We shall delight among the demons of our Empire's war!

    How they chose to lie, tried to justify, our enemies act;
    Decietfully, cowardly!
How many righteous lives, had to pay the price, due to their,
    antipathy, treachery!

But the stars will join us! Our beloved kin!
So our fleets rise like walls! To defend!
Safeguard the Abh and secure our home!

    [Chorus]
    The stars are with us!
We behold the truths of good and honor!
    The stars are with us!
We behold them here and now!
    The stars are with us!
Death won't defeat our united spirit!

We hearken and live by this truth!
Or else die so our honor is proved!

Everything will change, if you live this day, remember war voids
    simplicity, plentifully.
In the midist of war, twilight seeks your soul, in a fight it seeks
    To take your bright light.

So long as the stars, stand with you!
Your path will stay alight, through the fight!
Keep you warm, even in the cold embrace of impending doom!

    [Chorus x2]
    The stars are with us!
We behold the truths of good and honor!
    The stars are with us!
We behold them here and now!
    The stars are with us!
Death won't defeat our united spirit!

We hearken and live by this truth!
Or else die so our honor is proved!

    [x2]
Or else die so our honor is proved!

Nice, except for a few parts or aspects to be considered.

For one military songs are usually not long because soldiers can't remember it all. Well, maybe KeepItSimpleStupid rules would allow longer songs. I guess it depends.
"husbands and wives" can be dropped in order to imply and include orphans etc.
"Stars are with us" hmm can it be change to be more like "we are among the stars" you know as in every star represents a person.

    From Ship to Shore

    Post by spoor356 on 3/14/2017, 4:40 pm

This is a first draft of a song for the first stages of Jinto's and Lafiel's trek of survival on planet Casbul in the Sufugnoff system. I will likely continue to work on this, considering my first draft has no chorus and no repeating phrase. It was hard to even sync up sentences to what turned out to be a bit more frantic song than I expected.

Undead Desperation (2-2) - Crypt of the Necrodancer Metal Soundtrack | FamilyJules

    Adapted:
    "From Ship to Shore"

"From Ship to Shore" Planet Casbul with Lafiel and Jinto:
    0:13 (Lafiel's Proclaimation)
    Crashed in, Stranded.
    Ship abandoned!
    Gosroth's story;
    Will live, through me!

    0:26
    We! (Both)
    In these fields, (Jinto)
We force march on, toward the city!

    (Overlapping)
0:34 Please go on, without me to burden you! (Lafiel)
0:38 Don't speak such nonsense, we're moving on! (Jinto)

    0:41
    Night! (Both)
    Shrouds our movements, (Jinto)
    Each moment tense,
    Car taken, hopefully,
    Without recompense.
    0:48
    Disgrace in Diguise (Lafiel)
    Though I'll need his guide
'Tis our best chance to survive
    Now at the Pavilion

    0:55
Such ungrateful rebels storm our room! (Lafiel)
I should send them now to their doom!
Wait! We've been found, don't let shots sound! (Jinto)
To your duty you are bound,
But it's no use if we're captured on this gound!

    1:09
Then, we'll cut a deal. (Both)
    To our captors we appeal!
"Mankind will pursue, you too! (Lafiel)
    They seek to subdue you!"

    1:22
We are now all caught in their iron-fisted gaze! (Both)
We must make our escape from hotel, where we won't meet our fate.
    Flee to the hills, in the country still;
People hold out against Empire and Mankind by their will!

    1:39
    Now, it is quiet, (Lafiel)
On our path. We have respite, though orders still stand.

    1:49
    Calm, takes, hold. (Both)
    Down, this grim road.

    2:06
    I, hope, still,
    To, see, my, home. (Jinto)

    2:17
    We still move on (Both)
    Please move on.
Hope still moves on, on, on.

    Fight! (Lafiel)
    Run! (Jinto)
    Trails of war! (Both)
    1:43
How many more of them can there be! (Both)
We've already had 1 whole of their platoons bleed!
How many more of them can there be!
Nothing to hold here, make each strike brief!
    1:49
    Fight! (Jinto)
    Run! (Lafiel)
    Fight and run! (Both)
    Try to break away!

    1:55
They will know my wrath! (Lafiel)
I shall kill them all to make my own path!
The die has been cast! (Both)
Look before us now! Finally we escape!

2:07 (Electric Tremolo-Bar synced with Police Siren)

    "From Ship to Shore"
    "The Trials of War"
For some reason I feel or I have a hard time to wrap my mind around it all and grasp a higher level of view.
I don't see a problem with the lyrics, actually, I see how they fit and all, yet, it does feel strange for some reason. I can't put my finger on it, but I feel the lyric might be stretching or long for some lines. I just don't see them as error per se, though.
For example: "Rebels lead us to the caves!" I was thinking maybe like "Into/Down the caves!"
    It emphasizes dramatic and urgency.
I guess they don't match my artistic sense. So it might be just me.

I agree with your sentiments. It's why I pitch the songs first at least. For the ones that do not have lyrics, it's much harder since I'm writing them from scratch and trying to make sure I limit stretching or limit how quickly the singer needs to match the strongest sounds in the song. I may rewrite them both, since they were first drafts, but they were the best I could do with an hour of somewhat distracted work.

Thank you tremendously, I hope to edit or re-write them soon.
