I just looked at PB and both uploaders still work.
Maybe you've got something else going on there that's conflicting.

I dunno. I do have several add-ons, but all of them are always turned off by default. The only active add-on is my session manager. The others are script games, and since I rarely play....

Possibly, I haven't updated java for some time since the updater seems to hog resources so I turned it off.
It's just the button is gone including adds with buttons. Good thing the add-on can be turned off/on with just a klick.

With my problem of it being slow I have decided that for the moment I will only post 2 or 3 replies per visit.

There's only one thing I can think to try, and that would be
to remove the BG and banner, which is about 800KB or so I guess.
That's roughly a MB, now why you have a problem regularly, I don't have an answer for.
The page should only be slow the first time to load, and then be cached.

Short of detailing how to properly clean it up and setup the computer,
I don't know what else to tell you.

JGZ, kinda technical question here... i have problems with VPN to my home computer due to bad latency lately ...and for some reason forum doesn't want to remember me loggin in without me providing IP adress. Ho exactly authentication works here - is ip is a must or cookie stuff work too?

I believe that it is cookie based, not much is said in the control panel.

Main reason a come to this conclusion, is that within the same household, going through a router and cable modem, on two different computers the forum doesn't remember me between them.

So I can go from comp A to comp B and it won't base it off the IP address, which to the world, would appear the same no matter which machine I was on.

So I think cookies. Um. maybe check your internet options and see if you can make an exception rule or something for that cookie. Maybe it's getting deleted each time you log off or something.

Hmm, normally when I change the comp on the same home network I need to login again, cookie or not.

I don't think it is possible, but could it be that you have automatic dynamic IP, AlexT? Or more likely you are using a proxy.
