Music From the 'Battle Flag of the Stars' Series

    Post by tanis1lionheart on 5/6/2009, 11:51 pm

High I was wondering what everyone thought of the anime series music?

Personally, I love many of the songs...the endings and openings are just great, one of the few I don't skip while watching.

On that note, does anyone know where to find the series music?
I've found the CotS, BotSI/II OST, but no 'extra tracks' or 'remixes'.
Also, I've only found an OVA ED Single for BotS3...maybe there's no real OST?

    Sad

Anyways, nice to see this series is still getting some love.
I just wish the novels would get released state side.

The good news is that i agree with you for the most part. The bad news is that i have no idea where to get the orchestral music from the series to grace your iTunes playlist.

I liked the music from the series initially, but it fell into the familiar trap of playing the same sh*t too often, and destroying its originality. Music is cool the first 3-5 play thurs, but after that it just becomes an annoying reminder that a battle/a romantic scene/an awkward scene is playing. Of course i dont fault the anime for this, but more the entertainment music industry in general

Well, I found links to the OSTs, but it looks like BotS3 only had a singles CD released, so only 3 songs.
Opening, Ending, Ending (w/o the words).

I wanted to get Seikai soundtrack for a long time...so far i have only 2 tracks, not sure where i got them from, but i still want full original disk in good CD quality...
I'm not sure if i'll ever be able to buy it - it's probably a problem for US guys let alone our pre-historic age area...it's easier to buy a rocket or machinegun here and if i order - nobody wants to deliver. Probably too heavy for bird to carry anyway Very Happy

So if you'll get that disk - maybe make rip for us too ? Very Happy

Well Lt - can't agree with you. I listen to stuff i realy like a lot. For years probably. I'm not playing it over for many times in a row, i listen to it now and then...It all depends on music. There's stuff which comes and goes and there's stuff i consider to be classic for myself. I guess i'm the type of guy who not easy to bore. A complex music take a lot of time for me to comprehend fully. For me it consist like of millions of individual sounds. The way musician hit the stings on his guitar, a variations in voice etc etc. Or maybe music get's a lot more detailed and interesting when you listen to it on a good sound system..

Guys I used to do international orders/imports for people at the Tenchi forum, I've sold on craigslist, and I've got a 100% rating on eBay.

Tell me what ya want, I'll tell ya how much it'll run.

I'm not sure about how exacly it's called, but it's supposed to be "Crest/ Banner of the stars OSTs" at least it's how it called on piratebay Very Happy Though nobody is seeding Embarassed
Well, i'd buy CD anyway as a tribute to Seikai and just to add it to collection.

Too bad they used that...well...old Seikai art for first 2 disks. I won't lie - i never liked those and i'm sure i can do better job painting seikai characters than whatever artist did those illustrations.

Well I was going to pick out which they were from here:
    http://www.abhnation.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=223&Itemid=226

I found where I can get a hold of the two OSTS, if you want me to make up some kind of cost estimate. There's only two of the 1st ost on auction, and 2-3 of the other one.
The bots ost is about double or triple the cost of the ost 1 in standard yen.

    1300-2000Y vs 34000-4000Y
Shipping, cross countries of course on top of that.
